Accident history is crucial when purchasing a car in UAE as it provides clarity on the vehicle’s past, ensuring safety and reliability for you and your family. Additionally, having a clear accident history is beneficial when selling your car, as it informs potential buyers about the vehicle’s condition and repairs, making it a more convincing purchase.
In this guide, we will cover how to check car accident history in the UAE using the following ways:
Before accessing any of these platforms to check accident history, it is best to have the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or the Chassis Number available and they can be found on the car registration card.
1. Visit the EVG website and enter the Chassis Number in the box under the Quick Search section - and then click search.
2. You will be redirected to a page displaying a list of all the reported accidents for the specified vehicle, including the date and time of the accident, the accident report number, and the accident location.
Please note that the EVG only provides information for vehicles registered in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah. Vehicles registered in these states and then transferred to Dubai or Dubai registered vehicles are not included in their database.

2. Enter the chassis number for the vehicle, check the "I'm not a Robot" box and click submit
3. You will be redirected to a page displaying a list of all the reported accidents for the specified vehicle, including the date and time of the accident, the accident report number, and the accident location.
Please note that vehicles registered in Dubai are not a part of the MOI database. Vehicles imported from the US, Japan or Europe that have not been registered at least once will also show no results either. Similar to EVG - MOI also provides information for vehicles registered in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah with a difference that they also provide information for vehicles transferred to Dubai that was registered in another emirate.

The simplest way to determine if a car has been in an accident is by calling the Dubai Police helpline. Alternatively, you can use the RTA’s Technical Vehicle Status Certificate service. This certificate offers essential information about the vehicle's condition, insurance history, accident history, ownership history, and more costing AED 120.
